What VoterRecords.com Collects
VoterRecords.com is a voter registration lookup site that displays publicly available voter registration information including your name, voter registration status, political party affiliation, precinct code, registration date, and the address associated with your voter registration. Voter registration records are public in all 50 US states — this data comes directly from state voter registration databases. While the information is technically public, VoterRecords.com makes it easily searchable and aggregable in a way that state websites do not. The site also sometimes displays year of birth, which combined with other data can be used for identity verification bypass.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Search for Your Voter Record
Go to voterrecords.com and search for your name plus your state to find your specific voter record. Note the URL of your detailed record page.
Step 2: Navigate to the Record Opt-Out Link
Scroll to the bottom of your specific voter record page. Click the "Record Opt-Out" button or link. There is no dedicated opt-out URL — you must find this link on your individual record page.
Step 3: Enter Your Email and Confirm
On the opt-out confirmation page, provide your email address. VoterRecords.com will send a confirmation email.
Step 4: Click the Confirmation Link
Open the email from VoterRecords.com and click the confirmation link to complete the opt-out. According to their FAQ, if you do not receive a confirmation email, it means your record was already successfully processed.
Step 5: Verify Removal
After completing the process, your voter record should be immediately removed from VoterRecords.com. Allow 1–2 business days for full propagation.
Important Notes
- No CAPTCHA, no ID upload, no account required — the opt-out is simple and free.
- Per-record opt-out — you must go to your specific record page, not a general opt-out URL.
- Data repopulates every 90 days — voter registration data is refreshed when you update your registration or when the state updates its database.
- Voter records are inherently public — VoterRecords.com compiles public government data. This opt-out removes you from this specific site only.
- You cannot remove the underlying public record from your state's voter registration database — only from this specific website.
- Consider also checking state voter registration lookup sites directly to understand what information your state publishes publicly.
