Spokeo is one of the most-visited people search sites in the US and is frequently used for background checks, landlord screening, and stalker-style surveillance.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Find Your Spokeo Profile URL
Go to spokeo.com and search for your name and city. Click on your profile and copy the full URL from your browser's address bar. You'll need this exact URL to submit your opt-out.
Step 2: Go to the Spokeo Opt-Out Page
Visit spokeo.com/optout.
Step 3: Paste Your Profile URL
In the opt-out form, paste the profile URL you copied in Step 1.
Step 4: Enter Your Email Address
Provide a valid email address. Spokeo will send a verification link to this email.
Step 5: Verify via Email
Check your inbox for an email from Spokeo. Click the verification link to confirm your opt-out request.
Step 6: Confirm Removal
After clicking the email link, you'll be redirected to confirm the removal. Your listing should disappear from Spokeo within 24-48 hours.
Important Notes
- You must opt out each version of your profile individually — if you appear under multiple variations of your name or address, each needs a separate opt-out
- Spokeo continuously pulls from new public records sources — your data may repopulate
- No phone number or ID upload required
- Set a calendar reminder to recheck every 90 days
