PublicRecordsNow is a people search and public records aggregator that displays personal information including your name, address, phone number, date of birth, criminal records, court records, property records, and voter registration data. It is owned by Intelius/PeopleFinders — the same parent company behind Intelius and PeopleFinders.com. The site aggregates public government records and third-party data to create comprehensive personal profiles accessible to anyone. PublicRecordsNow is particularly problematic because its opt-out mechanism is confirmed broken.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Attempt the Official Opt-Out Page
Navigate to https://www.publicrecordsnow.com/static/view/optout — the listed opt-out URL. Note: This URL redirects to the homepage and does not work. If it does not redirect, it may show an automated form that fails for many users with errors.
Step 2: Try the PeopleFinders Opt-Out Instead
Since PublicRecordsNow is owned by Intelius/PeopleFinders, try the PeopleFinders opt-out at peoplefinders.com (or the PeopleConnect suppression center at suppression.peopleconnect.us). Removing your data from PeopleFinders may cover PublicRecordsNow as well.
Step 3: Contact the Intelius Privacy Center
Go to https://www.intelius.com/privacy-center/ and submit a suppression request. Intelius's removal process may propagate to PublicRecordsNow since they share the same parent company and data sources.
Step 4: Email as Fallback
If the web forms fail, send an email to the contact address for PeopleFinders or Intelius requesting removal of your data from PublicRecordsNow.
Important Notes
- The opt-out form is BROKEN — the listed URL redirects to the homepage and does not process removals.
- The Contact page in the footer links to '#' — both privacy policy and terms links also link to '#'. This site is essentially non-responsive to removal requests.
