What PropertyShark Collects

PropertyShark is a real estate data and property research platform owned by Yardi Systems that displays detailed property and ownership information including your name, property address, property value estimates, deed information, mortgage details, tax assessment data, parcel numbers, property descriptions, and complete sales history. PropertyShark is primarily used by real estate investors, agents, and researchers. While much of this data comes from public county recorder and assessor records, PropertyShark compiles it in an easy-to-search format that exposes your property ownership details to anyone with internet access.

How to Remove Yourself

Step 1: Search for Your Property Listing

Go to propertyshark.com and search for your address or name to find the specific listing(s) you want removed. Note the address and owner name as it appears on the listing.

Step 2: Email PropertyShark Support

There is no web form opt-out. The URL propertyshark.com/opt-out-request returns a 404 error. Send an email to support@propertyshark.com with:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your property address
  • A clear statement that you are requesting data removal

Step 3: Await Processing

PropertyShark does not provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for email-based removal requests. Response time and removal timeline are unknown and not guaranteed. Follow up if you do not receive a response within 2–4 weeks.

Important Notes

  • No web form exists — the opt-out URL returns a 404. Email is the only method.
  • Data repopulates from public records — PropertyShark data comes from county property records. When you buy, sell, or refinance property, the data will reappear.
  • This is public data — property ownership records are public. PropertyShark compiles them but you cannot remove the underlying government records.
  • Yardi Systems owns PropertyShark — they may also be reachable through Yardi's corporate privacy contacts.
  • Consider also removing your data from BlockShopper, Realtor.com, and county assessor websites.
  • Email is the only reliable contact method — there is no phone number or online form.
