Pipl is an identity resolution and fraud prevention engine — not a traditional people search site. Major e-commerce platforms, background check services, and financial institutions use Pipl to verify identities and detect fraud. Pipl aggregates data from public records, social media profiles, employment databases, and commercial data brokers to build comprehensive identity profiles including your name, phone, email, address, work history, and photos.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Go to the Pipl Opt-Out Form
Visit Pipl's personal information removal request page. Note: Pipl offers separate forms for California residents (CCPA) and general privacy requests.
Step 2: Select Your Request Type
- California residents: Use the CCPA form
- All other residents: Use the general personal information removal form
Step 3: Fill Out the Form
You'll need to provide:
- Full name
- Email address (used for verification)
- Phone number
- Current address
- A brief description of your relationship to Pipl's services (e.g., "I am a consumer requesting data removal")
Step 4: Verify via Email
Pipl will send a verification email. Click the link to confirm your request.
Step 5: Wait for Processing
Processing takes approximately 30 days. Pipl may retain some data for fraud prevention or legal compliance purposes even after your request.
Important Notes
- Opting out may increase identity verification friction when shopping online or using services that rely on Pipl for fraud prevention
- Pipl is primarily a B2B data provider — your data may reappear if new sources feed into their system
- Set a calendar reminder to recheck every 90 days
- Data retained for fraud prevention or legal obligations may not be removable
