What PeopleFinder Collects
PeopleFinder aggregates public records, property records, criminal databases, and commercial data sources to build detailed personal profiles. Their database includes your name, phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, relatives, criminal records, and property ownership. PeopleFinder is powered by the Intelius/PeopleConnect infrastructure — the same backend used by Intelius, TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, and USSearch.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Go to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center
Visit intelius.com/opt-out. Note: PeopleFinder doesn't have its own opt-out page — it uses the PeopleConnect Suppression Center shared with Intelius and other brands.
Step 2: Enter Your Information
Enter your first name, last name, and state of residence.
Step 3: Locate Your Profile
Find your record from the search results and select it.
Step 4: Submit Email Verification
Provide a valid email address. PeopleConnect will send a verification link.
Step 5: Click the Verification Link
Open the email and click the confirmation link.
Step 6: Complete Phone Verification (if prompted)
You may be asked to verify your phone number in addition to your email.
Step 7: Wait for Suppression
Your profile will be suppressed within approximately 7 business days. The suppression applies across all PeopleConnect brands simultaneously.
Important Notes
- One opt-out covers ALL PeopleConnect brands: PeopleFinder, Intelius, TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, and USSearch all share the same suppression system — one request covers them all
- The direct PeopleFinder opt-out URL (
/opt_out) returns a 404 — always use the PeopleConnect suppression center - Suppression is not deletion — your data remains but won't appear in name searches
- Set a calendar reminder to recheck every 90 days
- Your data may repopulate when new public records are compiled
