What Oracle BlueKai Collects
Oracle BlueKai was one of the largest web tracking and data broker networks before being acquired by Oracle in 2013. It collected online browsing behavior, purchase history, demographic attributes, device identifiers, cookies, and interest categories across tens of thousands of websites. BlueKai's legacy domain (bluekai.com/consumers_optout.php) is now defunct — it returns a certificate error. Oracle has absorbed BlueKai into its Oracle Data Cloud (ODC) and marketing technology stack. The current Oracle consumer privacy tools cover the former BlueKai data along with Oracle's broader advertising data products.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Go to Oracle's Privacy Choices Page
Navigate to https://www.oracle.com/legal/privacy/privacy-choices/ — Oracle's centralized consumer privacy choices page, which now handles former BlueKai opt-outs.
Step 2: Submit a Data Privacy Inquiry
Oracle's consumer opt-out is primarily through the Data Privacy Inquiry Form at oracle.com/legal/data-privacy-inquiry-form.html. Submit this form to request removal of your data from Oracle Data Cloud products.
Step 3: Opt Out via Cookie-Based Mechanism
Oracle Data Cloud also offers a cookie-based opt-out — visiting the Oracle Privacy Choices page from a specific browser sets an opt-out cookie. This only works for browser-based tracking and must be repeated per browser/device.
Step 4: Provide Identifying Information
For non-cookie opt-outs (postal address or phone-based), submit your name, email, phone, and address through the Data Privacy Inquiry Form. Oracle may require identity verification.
Alternative: Call Oracle
US consumers can also contact Oracle's privacy team via phone to submit data privacy requests.
Important Notes
- The legacy BlueKai opt-out URL is defunct — bluekai.com/consumers_optout.php returns a cert error and should not be used.
- Oracle is registered as a data broker in California — California residents have stronger rights.
- Cookie opt-out only applies per-browser/device — clearing cookies resets it.
- Oracle's B2B data products are separate from the consumer-facing BlueKai web tracking — comprehensive removal requires both cookie opt-out and the data privacy inquiry form.
- Data does NOT repopulate once properly removed from Oracle's consumer databases.
- This is a complex multi-step process because Oracle's BlueKai integration is spread across multiple Oracle products and systems.
