What Intelius Collects

Intelius is one of the largest people search and background check platforms in the U.S. It aggregates public records, criminal databases, property records, and commercial data feeds. The company also owns TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, and USSearch — so opting out of Intelius helps suppress your data across multiple related sites.

What Data They Have on You

• 📧 Email addresses
• 📱 Phone numbers (landline and mobile)
• 🏠 Home address (current and former)
• 👤 Full name, maiden name, and aliases
• 🔗 Relatives and associates
• 📋 Criminal records and arrest history
• 🏡 Property ownership records

How to Remove Yourself

Step 1: Navigate to the Opt-Out Page

Go to: Intelius Opt-Out →

Note: This will redirect you to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center — this is the correct flow, not an error.

Step 2: Enter Your Email

1. Enter a valid email address
2. Intelius will send you a verification email
3. Open the email and click the confirmation link

Step 3: Complete the Suppression Form

After verifying your email, you'll be redirected to a form:

1. Enter your date of birth
2. Enter your full name
3. Submit the form

Step 4: Wait for Processing

Intelius suppression requests are processed within 7 days. Your profile will be hidden from name-based searches but note: suppression is not deletion — your data remains in their system.

⏱️ Time required: ~10 minutes

Important Notes

• ⚠️ Your data WILL repopulate. Suppression covers name searches — repeat every 90 days.
• Suppression ≠ deletion. Your data stays in Intelius's database; it just won't show up in name searches. Public records are the source and cannot be removed through this process.
• Intelius owns TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, PeopleFinder, and USSearch. Suppression through PeopleConnect should suppress your data across all of these brands.
• If you have multiple records (different cities, old addresses), you may need to submit separate suppression requests for each.
• California residents have additional CCPA rights — cite this if the process is disputed.
