What BlockShopper Collects
BlockShopper is a real estate news and data site that aggregates public property records to show who has purchased property in specific geographic areas. It displays your name, property address, purchase price, loan amount, property description, and seller/buyer names derived from public county recorder filings. The site is primarily aimed at real estate industry professionals and curious neighbors. Since it draws exclusively from public government records, removing BlockShopper listings does not remove the underlying public data — it only removes it from this specific website.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Search for Your Property Listing
Go to blockshopper.com and search for your address or name to find the specific listing you want removed. Note the URL of your profile page — you will need it for your removal request.
Step 2: Email the Removal Request
The only working removal method is emailing blockshopper@gmail.com. There is no web form, no CAPTCHA-free automated system, and no online self-service portal. Your email should include:
- Your full name
- The URL of your BlockShopper listing page
- A clear statement that you are requesting removal and citing your privacy rights
Step 3: Await Processing
BlockShopper does not provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for removal requests. Response time is unknown and not guaranteed. Follow up if you do not receive a response within 2–4 weeks.
Government Officials (Special Note)
If you are a government official, law enforcement officer, or hold a public-facing elected position, you may be asked to provide proof of employment or official status to qualify for expedited removal.
Important Notes
- No web-based opt-out exists — the blockshopper.com/donotsell page fails to load (ERR_ABORTED).
- Data repopulates from public records — BlockShopper data comes from county property records. When you buy, sell, or refinance property, the data will reappear on the site unless you email again.
- This is fundamentally public data — property transactions are public record. Removing yourself from BlockShopper does not remove the data from county assessor websites or other aggregators.
- Consider also removing your data from PropertyShark, Realtor.com, and county assessor sites if you want comprehensive property data removal.
