What Apollo Collects
Apollo.io is a B2B data enrichment and sales intelligence platform used by thousands of companies for lead generation and outreach. It collects professional data including your name, work email, job title, company, phone number, LinkedIn profile URL, work history, and technical skills. Apollo scrapes public professional profiles, company websites, and social networks to build comprehensive B2B contact databases. If you have ever been in a professional context online, Apollo likely has a profile on you.
How to Remove Yourself
Step 1: Go to Apollo's Privacy Removal Page
Navigate directly to https://www.apollo.io/privacy-policy/remove. This is Apollo's dedicated page for submitting opt-out and data removal requests. You can also access it from the footer link "Don't Sell My Info" or through "Privacy Center" at /company/privacy-center.
Step 2: Submit the Removal Request
Click the "Submit opt-out request" button on the page. Apollo states that once your request is processed, all information contained in your profile will be removed and your record will become unavailable in their products.
Step 3: Check for Email Verification
Apollo may send a confirmation email to the address associated with your profile. If so, click the verification link to confirm your identity and authorize the removal.
Step 4: Receive Suppression Confirmation
Apollo states they will add you to a suppression list to prevent your profile from being reactivated in the future. This means data should not repopulate — a significant advantage over many other brokers.
Important Notes
- Apollo offers SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified privacy handling — their process is relatively robust and well-documented.
- Data does NOT repopulate once removed — Apollo explicitly maintains a suppression list to prevent re-activation.
- You can also request access to your collected data at /privacy-policy/information-claim.
- If you are a California or other regulated-state resident, Apollo's privacy page provides additional rights under applicable law.
- Email fallback: privacy@apollo.io for any issues with the web form.
- Because Apollo is B2B-focused, the data they hold is primarily work-related. Removing yourself primarily affects sales and marketing outreach to you, not personal data exposure.
