What Acxiom Collects

Acxiom is one of the largest data brokers in the world, collecting detailed consumer profiles from over 10,000 data sources. They gather your name, email, postal address, phone number, demographic data (household income, size, age ranges), purchase behavior, vehicle information, and online browsing activity. Acxiom serves primarily business clients in marketing, retail, financial services, and automotive sectors who use this data for targeted advertising, customer segmentation, and risk assessment.

How to Remove Yourself

Step 1: Go to the Acxiom Opt-Out Page

Navigate directly to https://www.acxiom.com/optout/ — this is Acxiom's dedicated consumer opt-out portal. The main website URL (acxiom.com) redirects here.

Step 2: Fill Out the Opt-Out Form

Enter your first name, last name, and email address. Acxiom requires email verification to process your request — they will send a confirmation email to the address you provide.

Step 3: Confirm Your Email

Check your inbox for an email from Acxiom. You must respond to or click the confirmation link in that email to activate your opt-out request. Without this step, your request will not be processed.

Step 4: Wait for Processing

Acxiom states it can take up to 2 weeks after email confirmation for your data to be removed from their marketing lists and products. You do not need to do anything further during this period.

Alternative: Opt Out by Phone

Call 1-877-774-2094 to submit your opt-out request by phone. This may be faster for some users and does not require internet access.

Important Notes

  • Email verification is mandatory — Acxiom will not process your opt-out without confirming your email address first.
  • Opting out does not affect data shared with marketers before your opt-out date — historical sharing is not reversed.
  • Acxiom also offers a Right to Delete via their OneTrust privacy portal if you are a California resident or in another jurisdiction with similar privacy laws.
  • Acxiom is registered as a data broker in California and Texas.
  • Because Acxiom does not repopulate your data once opted out, this is a one-time action that should provide lasting removal.
